Set in 75 acres of attractive woodland, Longhirst Hall's extensive grounds comprise of six floodlit all-weather tennis courts; two cricket grounds; floodlit all-weather hockey and football pitches; two 18-hole golf courses (with one championship course); woodland trails; and lawn croquet.
Longhirst Hall is just 2 miles from the A1 main road, close to Morpeth and 15 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne. There are rail and bus stations in Morpeth, with a regular service to Newcastle.
Built by renowned local architect John Dobson, the main building of Longhirst Hall Hotel was originally a nineteenth century Georgian mansion with the modern bedrooms added later to the property. Each bedroom features, amongst other things, free Wi-Fi internet access, satellite TV, a writing desk, and a separate bath and shower, with disabled-equipped rooms available. All rooms are non-smoking.
The fine dining Boyson Restaurant at Longhirst Hall serves classic British dishes, with a modern, creative twist, complemented by an extensive wine and drinks menu. The à la carte menu benefits from seasonal changes, and uses the freshest and finest of local ingredients. You can dine more informally in the Collingwood Bar, serving British pub food, or alternatively, choose from The Orangery, Sticky Wicket and Dobson Bar. There are also a number of private dining and banquet rooms available, including the drawing room lounge.
Set within the stunning grounds of Longhirst Hall is the Decoro Spa, which echoes the sumptuous furnishings and décor of the famous British textile designer, William Morris. Decoro Spa boasts the Beautifully British range of organic treatments, exclusively from Natural Empathy. Located within the grounds of Longhirst are two of Northumberland's most challenging golf courses. The Lakes Course provides tight fairways and an abundance of water, whilst The Dawson Course affords a more relaxed, less technically demanding round of golf. Longhirst Hall also has a fitness room.
Longhirst, Morpeth, is the North East's premier conference and events venue, with 23 fully equipped function and meeting rooms, accommodating up to 270 theatre style and 180 banqueting. Longhirst provides a tranquil setting in which to brainstorm ideas or build team relationships.
Longhirst Hall is the perfect base to explore the castles and coastlines of Northumbria.
